Ellie Young

Ellie Young works at the intersection of climate, AI, and operations, bringing Neurosymbolic AI to facilitate individuals, teams, and ecosystems to collaborate effectively at scale. She is the Founder and CEO of Common Action, whose primary software technology was designed for NASA scientists and is a NASA New Technology. Ellie also serves as Senior Advisor at the Institute for Climate Innovation at Cambridge University. Previously, she was the inaugural Head of Community at the Knowledge Graph Conference, launching the KGC Community in 2020 and directing the 2021 KGC conference. Her academic work includes a seminal publication on open knowledge networks, with the National Science Foundation and Office of Science and Technology Policy, and she has convened or presented at KDD, AKBC, ACM SIGSPATIAL, the ACM Web, AGU, and Opal Group conferences. 

Before entering tech, Ellie worked in agriculture and renewable energy, and holds a degree in Sustainability. She remains focused on topics in supply chain, environmental intelligence, ecosystem restoration and biodiversity conservation, disaster response and rebuild, city resilience, and other systemic challenge areas.
